Sibylla: inspiración e historia de una colección handmade

Sibylla: inspiration and history of a handmade collection

Finally, #Sibylla has seen the light.

Our little tribute to simplicity in all its forms, to magnanimous and imperfect nature. A kind of embrace of fluid forms, sustainability and the art of all the small objects that surround us every day.

Finally, #Sibylla has seen the light.

Our little tribute to simplicity in all its forms, to magnanimous and imperfect nature. A kind of embrace of fluid forms, sustainability and the art of all the small objects that surround us every day.

Why Sibyla?

Maria Sybilla Merian studied insects and painted them at a time when women were barely allowed to study or observe. She is known as the butterfly scientist . He would observe them, draw them, and then determine their vital importance in nature. She was probably the first outspoken environmentalist at a time when the word environmentalism had not yet been invented. They never told us its history or its importance because today we know that the books were written by men and, in them, the most important feats were performed by men.

Sibylla's drawings had been obsessing us for a while.

The level of detail, the ability to unite art and science, the way to rebel against society through a brush.

Our collection is a small tribute to his legacy, to fluid shapes, to sustainability, to the art of all the little insects and tiny elements that surround us every day.

Maria Sibylla Merian's look is the look of someone who is looking for her place regardless of the impositions. And for us our collection is inspired by women who, like her, observe the environment, respect it and find a collective discourse where respect and empowerment prevail.

Each of the objects that make up Sibylla has been meticulously created by hand and with elements that come from the earth. For this reason, for us our jewels not only exude water, gold, labradorite or quartz, but also purity, strength and rough textures that are, in short, synonymous with life.

Her gaze, by Maria Sibylla Merian, is the gaze of a woman, who observes, who seeks her place regardless of the impositions.

And for us, our collection is inspired by women who, like her, observe the environment, respect it and find a collective look without impositions.
